Abstract The invention relates to a preparation method of a lithium battery negative electrode material TiNb2O7. The preparation method comprises the following steps: according to the stoichiometric ratio of atitanium-niobium composite oxide TiNb2O7, weighing a titanium source and a niobium source in a molar ratio of 1: 2, dissolving in a dispersing agent, and stirring to obtain a uniformly dispersed mixed solution; pouring the mixed solution into a stainless steel reaction kettle with a tetrafluoroethylene lining, putting the stainless steel reaction kettle into a drying oven for solvothermal reaction, and then naturally cooling to room temperature to obtain turbid liquid; centrifugally washing the turbid liquid for multiple times and then putting the precursor into a drying box; and pouring thedried precursor into a crucible, putting the crucible into a muffle furnace, calcining at a certain temperature for a certain time, and cooling to room temperature to obtain the titanium-niobium composite oxide TiNb2O7 materia
