Abstract The invention provides boron-doped defective zinc oxide as well as a preparation method and application thereof, and belongs to the technical field of catalyst preparation. The preparation method of the boron-doped defective zinc oxide comprises the following steps: S1, adding a zinc acetate powder material into a solvent I, mixing and heating to obtain a precursor; S2, mixing the precursor prepared in the step S1 with a surfactant and a solvent II to obtain a mixed solution, and stirring for later use; S3, carrying out hydrothermal reaction on the mixed solution prepared in the step S2 to obtain purified zinc oxide; and S4, crushing the zinc oxide prepared in the step S3 and sodium borohydride, uniformly mixing, and calcining to obtain the boron-doped defective zinc oxide. The preparationprocess is simple, and the prepared boron-doped defective zinc oxide has the advantages of high catalytic activity, high stability, easiness in separation and recovery and the like, and can be used as a visible-light-induced
