Abstract The invention discloses a 4A molecular sieve as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The 4A molecular sieve is prepared by a preparation method comprising the following steps: 1) deoiling, calcining, washing, pickling and drying spent bleaching clay generated by oil refining to obtain pretreated spent bleaching clay; 2) mixing the spent bleaching clay pretreated in the step 1) with alkali, and roasting the mixture to obtain an alkali fusion material; 3) mixing the alkali fusion material obtained in the step 2) with water, and adding an aluminum source to prepare a precursor solution; and 4) carrying out hydrothermal reaction on the precursor solution obtained in the step 3). The 4A molecular sieve can be used as a cationic adsorbent or a gas adsorbent.
