Abstract The purpose of the present invention is to provide a video display device that makes it possible to readily and precisely identify the polarization axis direction of a reflective polarizing plate andto adjust the polarizing reflection axis direction with high precision, as well as a wire-grid polarizing plate, etc. that make it possible to readily check the polarization axis direction.
