Abstract The invention relates to an information communication network optical cable management auxiliary tool and method based on a GIS technology. The system comprises a GIS computer, a printer, a maintenance station management computer, a handset, a joint box, a cable well and an optical cable line. The GIS computer inputs information of a connector box of an optical cable line and information of an electric cable well through a handset APP management module. The input information is wirelessly transmitted through the maintenance station management module; sending to an information communication network optical cable management system based on a GIS technology; the system comprises a fault management module and a system management module. Forming cable map displays, the functions of informationaddition, deletion, modification and communication line browsing are realized; electronic management of line archives is achieved, the line trend is combined with a satellite map, field pictures and 360-degree panoramic image
