Abstract The invention provides a green wave vehicle speed guiding method and system. The green wave vehicle speed guiding method comprises the following steps that a vehicle receives vehicle data signals sentby other vehicles and traffic light signals sent by traffic lights at a first intersection and a second intersection, wherein a forbidding lamp indicates a state of forbidding vehicle passing, and apassing lamp indicates a state of allowing vehicle passing; according to the vehicle data signal of the own vehicle, the vehicle data signals of the preceding vehicles and the set safe distance between the two vehicles on the same lane, the method can calculate to obtain a driving speed according to the traffic light signals of the first intersection and the second intersection, so that the traffic light of the second intersection in front of the vehicle is in an allowed passing state when the vehicle drives to the second intersection at said driving speed.
