Abstract | The invention discloses a method for rapidly separating larvae and pupas. The method comprises the steps that mixtures of mosquito larvae and pupas are poured into iced water, pupas float over the water surface, larvae are sunk into the iced water, and pupas at the upper layer and larvae at the lower layer are fished out separately to obtain separated pupas and larvae. The inventor finds that whenthe mosquito larvae and pupas are put into the iced water, larvae automatically sink immediately when being frozen, and pupas can float over the water surface; after the pupas are fished out, and when the temperature of the iced water is increased to the normal temperature (25 DEG C), larvae can automatically float up. Accordingly, mosquito larvae and pupas can be effectively separated, the mosquito larva and pupa separating efficiency is improved, time and labor are saved, and pupas are not injured.
