The invention provides a small novel current transformer with a wide input range, which comprises at least two frameworks with a cavity inside, wherein the frameworks are provided with a spacing therebetween and connected by alloy sheets, each framework is provided with a winding, and the windings forms a closed magnetic circuit together with the alloy sheets. Compared with the existing current transformers, the alloy sheets are connected to the frameworks, and the internal part of each framework is a cavity, thereby playing a role of an air magnetic core. The whole small novel current transformer with the wide input range is low in magnetic conductivity, and the magnetic flux is not easy to reach the saturation point, so that the measurement range of the novel current transformer is larger than that of the traditional current transformer, and the volume is smaller.
