The invention provides an aqueous coating composition and an anticorrosive coating method, wherein the aqueous coating composition can form a good anticorrosive coating film even after being coated ona residual rusted base material. The present invention includes: a two-component aqueous coating composition comprising: a first component (I) comprising a resin emulsion (A); and a second component(II) comprising a resin emulsion (B) and a softener (C); the anticorrosive coating method for coating the aqueous coating composition on an article to be coated; and a coated article.
