Abstract The invention discloses a high-voltage lithium ion battery electrolyte. The high-voltage lithium ion battery electrolyte comprises a non-aqueous organic solvent, a lithium salt and additives, and is characterized in that the additives comprise vinylene carbonate and a mixture prepared from bis (trifluoromethyl sulfonyl) lithium imide and cyanobenzene, wherein vinylene carbonate accounts for 1-10%of the electrolyte based on mass percentage, and the mixture accounts for 1-20% of the electrolyte based on mass percentage, wherein the mass ratio of bis (trifluoromethyl sulfonyl) lithium imide to cyanobenzene in the mixture is 3 to 1. The electrolyte is used in the lithium ion battery, and a stable solid electrolyte interface film can be formed on the surface of the high-voltage lithium ion battery positive electrode and the negative electrode materials, so that the stability of the positive and negative electrode materials in the cycling process is effectively protected, the energy densityof the lithium ion batter
