Summary: | The present invention discloses a method for promoting corticospinal tract regeneration to repair spinal cord injury by optogenetic stimulation to activate large-scale cortex. LED lights are used as alight source of light stimulation to enlarge illumination area, thereby activating the cortex in a large area. A waveform generator is applied to accurately control intensity, frequency and wavinesswidth of the LED lights to achieve desired light stimulation parameters. The method conducts the large-scale specific optogenetic stimulation for neurons without damaging brain tissue, avoids influence on glial cells, thus specifically enhances electrical activity of the neurons in large-area brain regions, promotes axonal regeneration to improve neuronal functions after the spinal cord injury andconducts wide-range specific activation of a fifth layer of pyramidal neurons in the cortex to promote the regeneration of a large number of corticospinal tracts after the spinal cord injury.
