Abstract The invention provides a rear row door opening alarm system and method. Side rear millimeter radar controllers are placed on the two sides of the rear part of a vehicle; the radar controllers are in information interactive connection with BCM through CAN buses; and the BCM is in control connection with alarm equipment through a CAN bus; after the vehicle stalls, the side rear millimeter radar controllers are activated to monitor a target; according to a distance and a speed of the target, an interval time of the target colliding with a rear row door is calculated and divided into multiple safety grades to generate multiple safety grade instructions and correspondingly control actions of the alarm equipment through the CAN buses.
