Abstract The present invention relates to a method for refining dimethyl terephthalate (DMT). It is that the crude DMT is conveyed into an interrupted-operation membrane crystallizer to make it pass through the procedures of crystalllization and fusing treatment, so that the invented product DMT can be directly obtained by once treatment. Said invention is simple in technological process, low in operation cost, and good in refining effect, so that it has the good economic and technic effects.
