Abstract The number of selectable chips is increased without adding signal lines to a general-purpose memory controller. A semiconductor storage device is provided with: a memory controller; a plurality of memory chips; a selection unit connected with the memory controller and connected with the plurality of memory chips in such a manner that any of the plurality of memory chips can be selected; and a switch unit connected with the memory controller and the selection unit. The memory controller and the selection unit are connected through a signal line for transmitting a first signal output from the memory controller for selecting the memory chip.
