Abstract | The invention relates to a novel S-band broadband microstrip patch antenna. The novel S-band broadband microstrip patch antenna is characterized by comprising a top-layer radiation metal patch layer,a bottom-layer grounding plate metal patch layer and a dielectric layer positioned between the top-layer radiation metal patch layer and the bottom-layer grounding plate metal patch layer. Based on the application requirements of an S-band wireless communication system, a compact broadband antenna is designed, the patch antenna is better in mobility and penetrability, and the antenna is optimizedand transformed. By introducing a suitable size of a ring and a rectangle on a basic circular patch structure, parameters such as S parameters and gain of the antenna meet the actual working requirements, and the operation bandwidth of the antenna completely covers the S-band; and meanwhile, the antenna has the characteristics of miniaturization, easiness in integration and the like.
