Abstract The invention discloses a microbial-straw-based fattening fermented total mixed ration (FTMR) for mutton-type sheep and a preparation method thereof, and belongs to the field of animal husbandry feedprocessing. According to the microbial-straw-based fattening FTMR for the mutton-type sheep and the preparation method thereof, local straw resource is fully utilized, and stored as wrapped microbialstraw by adding lactic acid bacterium in the field. Then, the wrapped microbial straw is unwrapped and crushed in a total mixed ration (TMR) processing factory according to nutrient needs of lamb fattening; and the crushed straw is matched with other feed raw-materials, added with a complex bacterial preparation, and subjected to second wrapped fermentation so as to obtain a two-stage lamb fattening fermented total mixed ration.
