Abstract The invention discloses a rod machining method for improving the yield of 316 L stainless steel centrifugal atomization fine powder. The rod machining method comprises the steps that (1), a 316 L mother alloy rod blank is obtained through smelting; (2), the obtained 316 L mother alloy rod blank is machined to obtain a rod; (3), the obtained rod is firstly subjected to thermal treatment, and then is forged to obtain a rod material after cooling; (4), the obtained rod material is finish-machined to obtain a metal electrode rod; (5), plasma rotation electrode equipment is adopted, and the obtained metal electrode rod is centrifuged and smelted to obtain metal powder; and (6), the metal powder is screened and packed under the protection of inert gas.
