Abstract | The invention discloses a thulium-doped and holmium-doped lanthanum calcium lithium niobium garnet crystal and a preparation method and application thereof. The thulium-doped and holmium-doped lanthanum calcium lithium niobium garnet adopts a chemical formula as follows: Ca2.4La0.6Li1.22Nb1.82Ga2.36O12.xTmyHo(3-y)Ga5O12, wherein x is 0.03-0.1, y is 2.5-3.0, the doping concentration of Tm<3+> is 3-10at.%, and the doping concentration of Ho<3+> is 0-1.67at.%. The invention further discloses the preparation method and application of the crystal. The crystal is prepared by preparing a polycrystalline material by a solid-phase synthesis method, and then growing a Tm,Ho:LCLNGG crystal by a pulling method. The crystal can generate 2-micron ultrashort pulse laser, adopts a disordered crystal structure, has an inhomogeneous broadened spectrum, and facilitates generation of the ultrashort pulse laser by a mode-locking technology more.
