Abstract | The invention discloses a method for correcting the detection result of a side scan sonar under complicated landform conditions, including the influence of fluctuated topography on detection results,the influence on the position of suspended pipelines, and the influence on the size calculation of a target object; when the side scan sonar is used to perform subsea pipeline detection in negative landform such as pipe trenches and flushing grooves, side scan sonar signals are shielded by concave landform and surrounding accumulation bodies, and detection blind zones will be generated. By adjusting the relative position between a side scan sonar towed body and the subsea pipeline, the glancing angle of acoustic wave signals is larger than the degree of side slope of the pipe trenches, the flushing grooves, etc., to ensure the all coverage detection of the acoustic signals to the inside of the grooves or behind the bulges.
