Abstract The invention provides an optical fiber cladding removal device, a removal system, a removal method and an external device. An optical fiber cladding removal device which heats a cladding of an optical fiber with a heater and removes the cladding with a blade is provided with: a communication unit for receiving, from an external device, information based on optical fiber type information which hasbeen inputted to the external device and which specifies an optical fiber type selected by a user from among multiple optical fiber types; and a heater which heats a cladding of an optical fiber using the received information based on the optical fiber type information, wherein the heater is capable of heating the cladding under multiple conditions corresponding to the optical fiber type information. 种光纤包覆去除装置、去除系统、去除方法及外部装置,利用加热器对光纤的包覆进行加热并利用刀将该光纤的包覆去除的光纤包覆去除装置具备:通信部,其接收来自外部装置的基于光纤种类信息的信息,该光纤种类信息为确定出被用户从多个光纤种类中选择出的光纤种类的信息,并输入至所述外部装置;以及加热器,其使用接收的基于上述光纤种类信息的信息,进行光纤的包覆加热,上述加热器能够以与上述光纤种类信息相应的多个条件执行包覆加热。
