The present invention provides an image processing method and apparatus. The method comprises: scanning a part of skin required to be diagnosed by a to-be-diagnosed patient to form a first image for diagnosis; inputting the first image into a depth learning model for learning, and obtaining position information of a minimal lesion area in the first image; obtaining an original image including the minimal lesion area and a mask image from the first image according to the position information and the image edge detection algorithm; and merging the mask image and the original image to obtain a target image corresponding to the minimal lesion area, wherein the target image is an image for diagnosing the minimal t lesion area, and pixels in the target image correspond to the pixels in the original image and the mask image one by one.
