Abstract | The invention discloses a support tool for cold forming of a thin-walled elbow and a forming method. The method comprises the steps of arranging the support tool in a straight pipe blank which is to be machined into an elbow, then performing cold pressing forming on the straight pipe blank by using a cold pressing mold, and taking out the support tool after cold pressing forming so as to obtain the elbow. The support tool and the forming method have the advantages of reliable and practical technique, simplicity in operation and high efficiency, and the problems of squashing, wrinkles and the like which are prone to occurring in arc positions in the cold pressing forming process of the nonferrous metal elbow are effectively solved; in addition, the tool is designed into two parts, so that the demoulding problem is solved, the quality and the rate of finished products of the elbow are increased, the production cost is greatly reduced, and economic benefits are obviously increased.
