Abstract The invention discloses a vehicle re-recognition method and system based on vehicle front windshield sticking sign. Implementation of the method comprises the steps of taking pictures of a vehicle front windshield, inputting the pictures into a deep training detector to perform detection and positioning, and acquiring a candidate region of front windshield sticking signs; performing detection and positioning on the candidate region of the front windshield sticking signs by using the detector, acquiring candidate regions of each sign, and counting the number and color sequence of the signs; and calculating relative positions of the signs and a central point of each vehicle front windshield picture. If two vehicle front windshield pictures are consistent in number and color sequence of the signs and a difference value of the relative positions is within a preset value, vehicles in the two pictures are judged to be the same vehicle, otherwise, the vehicles are judged to be different vehicles.
