Summary:The invention belongs to the technical field of new energy, and specifically relates to a preparation method and an application of manganese dioxide-coated hollow carbon spheres. The preparation method comprises the steps of taking silicon dioxide as a template to synthesize phenolic resin; performing high-temperature calcining in inert atmosphere to convert the phenolic resin on the surface of the silicon dioxide into a carbon material; next, immersing the carbon material into an acidic or alkali solution to remove the silicon dioxide to obtain hollow carbon spheres; and finally coating the surface of carbon with a layer of manganese dioxide through a redox reaction between carbon and potassium permanganate. The preparation method is simple in operation; and the synthesized material is regular and tidy in appearance, uniform in size, and relatively large in specific surface area, so that ionic transport is facilitated; and in addition, the manganese dioxide-coated hollow carbon spheres can be applicable to a
