A half-open type heat insulation brick kiln comprises a kiln cavity with the top open. A cover plate is arranged at the top of the kiln cavity. A sliding rail is arranged on the periphery off a top opening of the kiln cavity. The cover plate can move along the sliding rail so that the kiln cavity top can be closed or opened. A heat insulation layer is arranged in the cover plate. A material inlet and a personal access port are formed in the side wall of the kiln cavity. Vertical excavation and the top movable cover plate design are adopted, the brick kiln earthwork workload is reduced, the vertically excavated brick kiln can be located under the earth surface, the heat performance in the kiln cavity side wall direction is greatly improved, the top movable cover plate can be completed opened during ventilation and blowing-in, rapid cooling of the interior of the kiln cavity and completion of fresh air exchange are facilitated, and persons are prevented from being scaled or harmed by inhaling of toxic waste gas
