The invention discloses a real-time compression method and a decompression method for while-drilling well logging data. The compression method comprises the following steps of: designing a multi-resolution quantitative model according to characteristics of specific measurement data itself, and making a quantitative list; calculating a difference value of adjacent data, and performing quantization error compensation of the difference value; performing quantification processing of the compensated difference value by utilizing the quantitative list so as to obtain the optimal quantized value and a coordinate of the optimal quantized value in the quantitative list; and finally, storing the obtained coordinate value in a compressed file or performing real-time transmission.
