The method comprises following steps: testing vibration parameters of a hydro-generator unit under conditions of different rotation speed and of different excitation current, and analyzing the vibration performance, evaluating the initial weight and position of tentative added weight; making multiple magnetic bases be absorbed at a certain position of an pre-determined generator rotor according to the weight and position of the estimated tentative added weight; starting up a machine again and performing a test with changed rotation speed and changed excitation current, and analyzing whether the tentative counter weight and position are suitable or not; manufacturing permanent counter weight blocks according to the calculation results and analyzing and evaluating the counter weight results.
