The invention relates to a method for absorbing and recovering phosphor in waste water by gangue. The method comprises the following steps: 1) crushing gangue and passing the crushed gangue through a 60-200-mesh sieve; 2) adding the gangue in a phosphorus-containing solution with concentration being 10 mg/L for stirring the materials, using a spectrophotometric method for performing a quantitative analysis on phosphor in a filtrate, calculating a phosphate removing rate; 3) performing same experiment under different pH conditions, investigating influence of pH for adsorption of phosphor by the gangue; and 4) under condition that addition amount of the gangue is changed, researching the adsorption characteristic for phosphor, wherein concrete steps are characterized in that gangue powder is characterized, adsorptivity on phosphor is researched, a phosphor adsorption mode is determined, and gangue practicality can be finally evaluated.
