The present invention relates to a vehicle door opening/closing apparatus (DO) provided with: a latch closing mechanism (LC) for holding a door (D) in a closed position; a latch opening mechanism (LO) for holding the door (D) in an open position; an electrically activated release mechanism (R) for releasing the latch closing mechanism (LC); a latch opening-linked mechanism (90) that is actuated from an initial position to a cancel direction in conjunction with the movement of the latch opening mechanism (LO) from an unlatched position to a latched position; a release cancel input relay mechanism (117) that switches from a connected state to a disconnected state when the latch opening-linked mechanism (90) is actuated in the cancel direction so as to allow a ratchet (9) that has been locked at the release position to return; and a cable (504) that is routed through the inside of door trim (Dt) provided on the door (D) and transmits, to the release cancel input relay mechanism (117), the movement of the tandem
