Abstract The invention discloses a novel hot and cold impact test method for an automobile engine, and belongs to the technical field of automobile engines. The method comprises the steps: closing a normally-closed solenoid valve and an intelligent adjustment value during a thermal shock test; starting a thermal switcher and a manual ball valve; enabling normal-temperature cooling water of an engine to flow to the thermal switcher from a water outlet of the engine through a temperature sensor, an expansion tank and a one-way valve, and carrying out heat exchange; enabling the cooling water after heat exchange to flow to the interior of the engine through an electromagnetic flow meter, and enabling the temperature of the cooling water to rise naturally; opening the normally-closed solenoid valve and turning off the thermal switcher during a hot and cold impact test when the temperature of the cooling water rises to 105 DEG C to 112 DEG C; enabling the cooling water to flow to the engine from a water inlet of an external circulating pipe through a second normally-closed solenoid valve and the electromagnetic flow meter; enabling the cooling water to flow to the interior of the external circulating pipe from the water outlet of the engine through the temperature sensor, the expansion tank, the manual ball valve, and the first normally-closed solenoid valve; and enabling the cooling water to flow out from a water outlet of the external circulating pipe. The method simplifies the testing standard, shortens the testing time, and relatively improves the check intensity of the engine in the hot and cold impact test.
