Abstract | The invention provides a surface treatment agent having excellent peel resistance and excellent effects for suppressing nonspecific adsorption with respect to a surface configured from an inorganic material, a tool and device having a modified surface, and a method for manufacturing the tool and device. A surface treatment agent for a surface configured from an inorganic material includes a polymer having the repeating units (A) and (B). (A): A repeating unit including the cationic group represented by formula (1) in a side chain thereof (In formula (1), R1 and R2 are each independently a C1-10 organic group.). (B): A repeating unit including the group represented by formula (2) in a side chain thereof (In formula (2), R3 represents a C2-8 alkanediyl group, R4 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-40 organic group, and n has a mean value of 1 or greater.). |
