Abstract A lapping full-penetration laser welding method for stainless steel heat exchange plates includes the following steps of pre-welding preparation, connecting method adoption, setting of welding parameters, and protective gas adoption. A continuous laser is adopted for full penetration of the heat exchange plates of the equal thickness. The rule of influence of different welding parameters on the depth of penetration, width of penetration and mechanical property of full-penetration joints and on the oxidation stain of the weld surface is obtained by the orthogonal experimental method through optimization, the widths of penetration of the upper interface and the lower interface are increased by a larger positive off-focus value, and the quality of welded joints is improved by limiting the depth of penetration of the welded heat exchange plates at the lower layer.
