The invention discloses an air compressor which comprises an air compressor body, an air compressor gear and a clutch device. An air compressor crankshaft is arranged in an air compressor crankcase, and an oil inlet is formed in the air compressor crankcase. The clutch device comprises an air pressure control hole, a clutch device shell and a clutch, the air pressure control hole is communicated with an automobile air pressure signal feedback hole, and an air pressure control signal is from pressure of an automobile air storage tank. The clutch device shell is fixedly arranged at the front end of the air compressor crankcase, an external spline shaft of the air compressor crankshaft is sleeved with the clutch, and the air compressor gear is fixedly arranged on the clutch. According to the air compressor, the clutch device is arranged between the air compressor crankshaft and the air compressor gear, and therefore the work state of the air compressor is controlled, and the air compressor has the advantages of being low in power consumption, low in exhaust temperature, low in oil pumping amount, high in reliability and the like.
