Abstract The invention relates to a composition capable of enhancing stability of a sodium hydroxymethyl glycinate solution and a screening method for selecting specific components, contents and addition amounts of the specific composition for a certain sodium hydroxymethyl glycinate solution sample. The invention solves the common problems of low stability, high discoloration tendency, high storage requirement, short shelf life and the like in the sodium hydroxymethyl glycinate solution. The screening method overcomes the uncertain factors for causing the product instability, such as discoloration/precipitation and the like, is free from the influence of the product raw materials, technique and the like, and has the advantages of high application flexibility and wide range.
