The invention discloses a device and a method for detecting air content of a concrete mixture. The device comprises a probe pole, wherein a temperature sensor and the density sensor are arranged at the lower end of the probe pole, and are connected with an electric testing device; a data collecting and processing device is arranged in the electronic testing device; and a display screen, a key and a printing interface are arranged outside the electronic testing device. The density and the temperature of the concrete mixture are respectively detected by virtue of the density sensor and the temperature sensor; sensor signals are collected, calculated and processed through the electronic testing device; the operation is convenient; the detection speed is high; the air content and the temperature of the concrete mixture can be automatically displayed; and the device and the method are suitable for testing the air content and the temperature of liquid or semi-liquid mixture such as self-compacting concrete, ordinary concrete and cement mortar.
