The invention relates to novel application of xylocarpus H and analogues thereof and in particular relates to application of xylocarpus H and analogues thereof in preparation of anti-depressive drugs or foods. The structure of the xylocarpus H is shown as a structural formula (I). The experiment proves that the xylocarpus H and analogues thereof have exact curative effects on the depression and basically have equivalent effects with a common anti-depressive drug venlafaxine. Meanwhile, because the xylocarpus H and analogues thereof are extracted components of the natural products, the anti-depressive drugs are small in side effects on the human body and can be used for a long time.
