Abstract | This dye-sensitized solar cell is equipped with a work electrode, which has a photocatalytic film, a counter electrode, and a solid charge-transfer layer or an electrolyte-containing layer containing a basic compound, the photocatalytic film being formed from an oxide semiconductor layer containing a dye compound represented by general formula (1) (in the formula, Y is a direct bond or an optionally substituted hydrocarbon group having 1-20 carbon atoms and having -CO-NR4- or -SO2-NR4- in the group; Z is a conjugated system group; R1, R2, and R3 represent an optionally substituted hydrocarbon group or an optionally substituted hydrocarbon oxy group; at least one of R1, R2, and R3 is an optionally substituted hydrocarbon oxy group; and R4 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group having 1-20 carbon atoms and optionally having a substituent group). |
