Summary:The invention provides a painting robot system and a spray gun unit. The painting robot system (10) includes a robot (20) and a spray gun unit (30). The robot (20) includes a plurality of robot arms (22-24) and a drive shaft member disposed on a distal end robot arm of the multiple robot arms, the drive shaft member being rotatable about a distal end drive axis. The spray gun unit (30) is mounted on the robot arm (24). The spray gun unit (30) includes a support member (31) fixed to the distal end robot arm (24), guide members (40a, 40b) disposed on the support member (31), a plurality of spray guns (32, 33a-33c) disposed on the support member (31), and a linkage mechanism (50) connecting between the movable spray guns (33a-33c) and the drive shaft member (25). A spacing between at least one pair of adjacent spray guns (32, 33a-33c) can be varied via the linkage mechanism (50) by rotating the drive shaft member (25) of the robot (20).
