The invention relates to a method for detecting the quality of a composite medicinal preparation which contains astragalus and zedoary. The composite medicinal preparation is dissolved by methanol, and the content of astragaloside and the content of germacrone in a composite medicinal preparation astragalus and zedoary capsule are detected simultaneously at one time by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC-ELSD), so that the quality of the astragalus and zedoary capsule is reflected. The problem that the astragaloside and the germacrone are difficultly measured synchronously is solved, the accuracy of quality detection on the astragalus and zedoary capsule and the stability of the product are improved, and quality control of industrial production is improved.
