Abstract The invention discloses a method for controlling sound radiation of a ship, and the method comprises steps of: providing a tunable vibration isolator with a housing, a piston, and a tuning port; connecting the housing to the body of the ship; connecting the piston to a vibrator on the ship; and selectively tuning the frequency of the isolator to prevent transfer of vibration carried by the structure from the vibrator to the body of the ship.
