Summary: | The invention relates to a dynamic voltage compensator and a working method thereof. The voltage compensator structurally comprises a bidirectional triode thyristor, a voltage-doubler rectifier, a direct-current storage unit, a half-bridge inverter, an output filter and a boosting charger, wherein the bidirectional triode thyristor is connected in series between a power grid and a load; the input end of the voltage-doubler rectifier is connected with the power grid; the output end of the voltage-doubler rectifier is connected with the anode and the cathode of the direct-current energy storage unit; a middle node of the direct-current energy storage unit is connected with the input end of the power grid through a switch; the half-bridge inverter is connected with the direct-current energy storage unit in parallel; a middle node of the filter is connected with the load through a switch; and the input end of the boosting charger is connected with the power grid.
