Abstract The invention relates to a general charging controller for a wind-light-diesel combined power supply system and a control method thereof. The general charging controller comprises a rectifying and filtering circuit, a voltage reducing chopper circuit, a fan unloading circuit and a control circuit, wherein the input ends of the fan unloading circuit and the rectifying and filtering circuit are connected in parallel, and are connected with an input power supply; the control circuit is connected with rectifying and filtering circuit, the voltage reducing chopper circuit and the fan unloading circuit through a control signal wire; the working power supply end of the control circuit is connected with the voltage reducing chopper circuit; the input end of the voltage reducing chopper circuit is connected with the output end of the rectifying circuit; and the output end of the voltage reducing chopper circuit is taken as the output end of the charging controller, and is connected with a storage battery unit.
