The invention discloses a method for controlling user equipment and a device thereof. The method comprises the steps of acquiring a first static image of the user equipment; acquiring feature information of the first static image; acquiring an equipment identification of the user equipment; and controlling the user equipment according to the equipment identification. The device includes a first acquiring unit, a second acquiring unit, a third acquiring unit and a control unit. The method and the device in the invention acquires the user equipment identification according to the acquired static image of the user equipment and control the user equipment according to the equipment identification, thus enables the user to determine the use equipment to be controlled quickly, accurately and directly, thereby improving the user experience.
