The invention discloses an ecological conservation method for plants on an inclined building roof, including the following steps: a. building a blocking side line at the periphery of the building roof; b. laying cement mortar in the area of the blocking side line on the waterproof layer of the roof; c. finishing the cement mortar that is not solidified so that the surface of the cement mortar is bestrewed with concave pits; and d. after the cement mortar is solidified, planting needle sedum lineare or other crassulaceae plants in the pits. The method solves the waterproof protection problem of the inclined building roof, effectively reduces the influence of thermal expansion and chilling shrink on the building structure of the roof, prolongs the service life of the building and reduces the repair cost of the building.
