Abstract The invention relates to a portable instanteanous tester for the concentration of chlorine dioxide solution, which belongs to the technical field of chemical instruments/photometers/concentration measurement of solution. The invention is a portable photometer with fixed wavelength, which is used for measuring the absorbance of chlorine dioxide solution at special wavelength and converting the absorbance to concentration of chlorine dioxide in the solution. Spectrophotometry is the simplest, easiest and most accurate method for measuring the concentration of chlorine dioxide and is to be adopted by novel national standard. In the invention, the monochromatic source with the specific wavelength is adopted so that beam splitting components are not needed, and power is supplied by batteries instead of alternating current power supplies, thereby realizing micro-scale and portability. The invention is suitable for measuring the concentration of chlorine dioxide and/or chlorine residual in water in various occasions
