Abstract | The invention provides a mechanical system of a meter-sized optical glass stress detection instrument. The mechanical system is characterized by comprising a work platform, a horizontally moving module, a vertical translation stage and a small caliber polariscope, wherein the horizontally moving module is horizontally arranged at one side of the work platform in the length direction of the work platform; the other side of the work platform is provided with the vertical translation platform; the small caliber polariscope is formed by connecting a measuring head and a light source through a reversed U-shaped connecting bar; the light source of the small caliber polariscope is fixedly connected with the vertical translation stage through an adapter plate; the measuring head and the light source are opposite to each other and are in bridge connection in the width direction of the work platform; and the vertical translation stage drives the small caliber polariscope to move in the vertical direction.
