Abstract At least one objective of the present invention is to provide a lens barrel capable of detecting a position of a retractable lens retaining frame with high accuracy, a lens driving apparatus, a camera, and a mobile information terminal using the lens barrel. A third frame female member (35) for rotating a third frame (31) around a lead screw (34) and driving the third frame (31) in forward and backward directions along the lead screw (34) is formed with a T-shared protruded member (350) as a detected portion located at a position opposite side of a rotation-preventing projection (35b).
