Abstract The invention discloses a session initial protocol-based point-to-point position information acquisition method, which is suitable to be used to establish point-to-point connection in a wireless network environment through a session initial protocol so as to acquire coordinate information. The method comprises the following steps: a first communication end transmits a connection establishment request to a second communication end and fills a coordinate return command in a command field in a header of the session initial protocol; the second communication end transmits a connection establishment response to the first communication end to establish a point-to-point connection; the second communication end acquires a coordinate position and fills the coordinate position in a user datagram protocol to transmit the coordinate position to the first communication end; and the first communication end receives the user datagram protocol and acquires the coordinate position of the second communication end from the user
