Abstract | Provided is a medium resisting discharge lamp system and a driving method, comprising a driving circuit, for receiving DC input voltage and generating AC output voltage; a transformer, having a first side loop and a secondary side loop, a medium resisting discharge lamp coupled to the secondary side loop, and an intermission mode light adjusting circuit; a first switch, turned on when the medium resisting discharge lamp is started, causing the first side loop and the first switch to form into a conductive path, thereby applying a first driving voltage on the medium resisting discharge lamp, and turning off the first switch after medium resisting discharge lamp is punctured by the first driving voltage, thereby applying a second driving voltage on the medium resisting discharge lamp. According to the invention, starting speed is advanced through reducing the starting time, namely the medium resisting discharge lamp reaches a full lightup state in a short time, and flicker of the mediumresisting discharge lamp |
