[Also in Division H5] A radiation dose indicator paint for hydrophobic surfaces, e.g. polyethylene, comprises an aqueous emulsion of a vinyl chloride copolymer and 0À5-10% by weight based on the emulsion of the yellow dye 41-aniline-azobenzene-msulphonic acid. In the examples are used vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer emulsion containing glycerol and vinyl chloride-vinylidene chloride-methyl acrylate copolymer emulsion containing also vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate pearl copolymer and chlorobenzene. The colour changes from yellow to violet on exposure to radiation.
